Chili peppers reduce heart attack risk: Italian researchers

 Italian researchers have found that peppermint has the ability to reduce the risk of heart attacks by using a capsaicin content.  These details were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.  Chilli nuts four times a week can reduce the risk of heart attack by 40 per cent.

 About 23 thousand people have been investigated and these details have been revealed.  Researchers say they are all from the Mollis area, which is heavily consumed by the Mediterranean diet.  Their eating habits were monitored for eight years.  It is estimated that 1,236 people died during this period, three-quarters of them due to cancer and heart attacks.

 Researchers specifically examined their eating habits along with the age of the deceased.  They found that consuming chili peppers four times a week had a 40 percent lower risk of heart attack.
