Barely hours after he described Rahul Gandhi as 'captain' and claimed it was the Congress president who asked him to visit Pakistan for Kartarpur corridor opening event, Navjot Singh Sidhu took a U-turn and said he went there on the invite of Imran Khan. 
“Get your facts right before you distort them, Rahul Gandhi Ji never asked me to go to Pakistan. The whole world knows I went on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s personal invite,” Sidhu tweeted. 
Sidhu had attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Kartarpur Sahib corridor in Pakistan on November 28.

“Rahul Gandhi is my captain. It is he who sent me to Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi is the captain of the captain (Amarindr) also,” Sidh has told the media. The cricketer-turned-politician has claimed 50-100 Congress leaders, including Shashi Tharoor, Hariss Rawd and RandeepSurjewala “patted” him on his back for the visit.

Sidhu later tweeted saying that Gandhi never asked him to go to Pakistan and it was at the behest of Imran Khan’s personal invite that he went to Pakistan.

Earlier, the Indian government said it will develop and build the corridor from Punjab's Gurdaspur district to the International Border to facilitate Indian pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur.
